Get the Pleasure Craft Operator Card and Cruise with Confidence

Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons‘(CPS-ECP) Boating Basics course is online, preparing boaters to pass the Pleasure Craft Operator Card (PCOC) test, get certified, and get on the water. The PCOC is mandated by Transport Canada as the minimum certification needed to operate any powered vessel of any length in Canadian waters. The penalty for not having the card is a minimum $250 fine.

For $49.95, anyone over the age of 16 can take Boating Basics online. This narrated and interactive course has five professionally-designed modules, including highlighted key learning points, open book quizzes, and support from experienced boaters and instructors.
